Helen Farabee – Respite Services
Helen Farabee offers respite services for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities from ages 4 through adulthood. Respite services are available to anyone living wihtin the 19-county service area who meet eligibility guidelines for receiving intellectual and developmental disabilities services through the Department of Aging and Disability Services system. Charges are based on the individual’s (or, in some cases, the family’s) income, with no one being denied services due to an inability to pay.
There is typically a 1-2 year waiting list to receive services. To get on the waiting list, you MUST contact the Helen Farabee Intake line at 1-800-669-4166 and ask to be directed to intellectual and developmental disabilities to receive help. No help will be given if you are not on the wait list.

- Service coordination
- In-home and family support
- Residential programs
- Home and community based services
- Vocational training
- Supported employment
- Respite services
- Psychological and nursing services
- In home training
- Day habilitation services
