The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at United Regional is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). United Regional’s program is one of only six pulmonary rehabilitation programs in Texas to achieve this recognition.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is an 18-week program dedicated to helping patients with chronic lung disease improve the quality of their life.
This is accomplished through education regarding:
- breathing training
- smoking cessation
- stress management
- environmental irritants
- nutrition
- respiratory disease process
- pulmonary medications
- work simplification
- oxygen use
The program also includes an exercise component that helps patients increase endurance for participating in everyday living activities.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is located on the second floor of the Heart Clinic, 1631 11th Street, Wichita Falls, Texas 76301, and is provided on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 am to 3:30 pm.
