Diabetes Education Empowerment Program
This program is for adults with a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes. This class meets once per week for nine weeks. Physical activity is included in each class and listed below is a schedule with all of topics covered:
The goal of this program are to decrease A1C, increase blood glucose control, and better understand the diagnosis of diabetes.
You will have access to the Health Department’s amazing staff, which includes:
- Certified Community Health Workers
- Certified Lifestyle Coaches
- Diabetes Educators
- Registered Dietician
- A Certified Fitness Instructor
- Community Champions that teach the class!
The Diabetes Support Group is a monthly meeting that is held in the Public Health District building. Guest speakers from around the community, as well as our Health Educators, cover topics that are not covered in class. We meet every fourth Monday of the month from 6-7pm and it is open to individuals who have attended our program.
Services are FREE to the public.
